Dover is large-lot country — long drives, older farmhouses and newer custom builds spread thinly along the Charles. Kitchens are big, and a second unit in a pantry, mudroom or lower level is common enough that a call here often turns into two cabinets rather than one.
Recurring here
Secondary units in unheated mudrooms and garages behave differently in winter: an ambient temperature below the design range makes a cabinet look like it has a control fault when it is simply too cold to cycle properly.

What we are called out for in Dover
Four pages, one per cabinet type, each written from the calls that arrive for it.
- Refrigerator Repair Needham kitchens run to large integrated Sub-Zero columns and classic over-under built-ins, most of them panelled to match the cabinetry during a rear-of-house renovation. Cooling loss, temperature drift, noisy condensers and blocked drains make up the bulk of the work.
- Freezer Repair Freezer drawers and standalone freezer columns that ice up, warm through, or refuse to hold a steady temperature. On a panelled unit the cause is often airflow behind the drawer front rather than anything wrong with the compressor.
- Ice Maker Repair Standalone clear-ice machines in butler's pantries and island ice makers in the main kitchen. Fill-valve faults, frozen supply lines, drain trouble and harvest cycles that stall halfway through are the recurring causes.
- Wine Cooler Repair Under-counter and tall wine units in dining rooms, pantries and finished lower levels. Set-point drift, failing zone sensors, tired door seals and blocked condensers cover nearly everything that goes wrong with them.

We could not work out why the bottles felt warm when the display looked perfectly fine. The interior light was staying on and quietly heating the cabinet, and a failed door reed switch was behind it. Twenty minutes to sort once he had found it.

Water was dripping down into the compartment below instead of into the bin. The fill tube had shifted out of line and was spraying past the mould. Realigned and clipped properly, dry ever since.

February cold and the pantry freezer started rattling behind the lower grille. A fan blade had cracked and was clipping the housing. He carried the part on the van, which I honestly did not expect.
